I’m walking around the streets of my city, thinking about an old movie I watched the other day
In The Cut, where Meg Ryan is an English teacher who has a passion for words
she goes through life with a notepad, writing down interesting words from graffiti and subway ads
I’m also thinking about blur
beautiful blur
the camera lens I’m using on these streets creates blur around the edges
funny how a camera can make images the way life is
blurry around the edges
in the movie, Meg’s view of life is blurry in the middle as well
she’s searching through the erotic blur for something
I’m just searching the streets for landmarks before they become condos
and then I find the coffee shop

Len I am surprised that you have not made reference to that fine upstanding British band Blur and their marvellous Parklife song. Everything looks a bit better when blurred around the edges and I particularly Like the tunnel, TTC and park bench photos – but then I would as it’s all Parklife!

Peter, I didn’t know about that band. But were you referring to the blur you get when toking up in the park?

Len, what am I seeing in photo 18?
I am puzzled by the green patch at the top of the photo.
Interesting photos.

Len, that’s the thing about blur. It’s like life… and a chocolate…. you never know what you’re gonna get… (Forest Gump).
(You called it a green patch, but it’s actually blue. It’s the back of the AGO)
