And so, the end of another #dogwood52 weekly photo challenge on Facebook. I hope you enjoy, but a word of caution before you read on… I’ll be stirring up some shit!
Week 41 Technical: Levitation
Levitation is part camera trick and part photoshop. Here I am, “Shooting the Matrix” at JC Saddington Park in Port Credit.
Week 42 Artistic: Music
The first 2 photos were at the Toronto Nuit Blanche living art event. Looks like the guy’s holding up a huge treble clef.
Week 43 Story: Movement
From our favourite downstairs pub in Reykjavik. Shutter speed = 1/20 sec.
Week 44 Technical: Magic ND Filter
A Neutral Density filter is like sunglasses for your camera. You can shoot with a lower shutter speed to get interesting effects. The lake image is a 15 second exposure, which smoothens out the water. (The guy didn’t move for at least that time). The Philosopher’s walk photo is 20 seconds, with the same person walking around. You need to use a tripod for this.
Week 45 Artistic: Cold
Reflection from the hood of my car on a really cold, rainy day.
Week 46 Story: Landscape
Foreground
Story of a landscape using the foreground as the subject and the background as the scene. The beach at Marie Curtis Park.
Week 47 Technical: Shaped Bokeh
Cheating here, as the spots are really mist droplets on the ND filter and not real bokeh. I don’t care too much for these gimmicky shots anyway.
Week 48 Artistic: Bodyscape
The human form has been the study of art since art was first
inspired. Inspiration this week is the human body.
This was probably my favourite week this year (go figure!). Couldn’t post this on Facebook, though, as nipples aren’t allowed. Mass shootings and KKK rallies are ok, but no nipples.
Week 49 Story:Blue Hour
The Blue Hour is the hour after sunset or the hour before sunrise when the sky is dominated by amazing blue and purple hues. This is the Credit River before sunrise.
Week 50 Technical: Full Edit
Use the SOOC (straight out of camera) shot from the beginning of the challenge and reedit
it to it’s full glory. Meh.
Week 51 Artistic: Fear
The second photo isn’t mine, of course, but for me, it’s the scariest image for 2017. Can’t put this on Facebook, either… no nipples, only dicks.

First comment from Fred, “That’s not Chantal is it?”
Had to bring him closer to the screen so he could see “Elizabeth’s” name, LOL!
My votes for best pic:
1) Clown and yellow gloves…kind of creepy? A crime scene?
2) Week 45: Artistic Cold – Stunning nature shot
3) Week 41: Technical Levitation – Len’s Lightness of Being!!
4) Week 51: Artistic Fear – Truly three creepies….

I mean your comment about Chantal… I have to be careful there 😮

Great photos. RE the above comments…..I can understand the mistaken identity. I’m pretty sure that Chantal and Elizabeth are body doubles.
Aways enjoy your photos.

Glad you enjoyed, Catherine… actually, Elizabeth is Chantal’s middle name LOL!!!
