As we visited some ghost towns on our latest camping trip I wondered if the columnist for the Toronto Star just had to get an article in for his deadline. This was an article that pulled me into this excursion and I was thinking that he really didn’t have anything so he decided to just make up some ghost town destinations.
I say that because most of the places we visited had live people living there, not just ghosts. Or maybe it’s just that the housing shortage has forced people to move back to these spaces.
But even with live people, there was still a ghost town element to be seen. I enjoy exploring these places to think about the history behind them. Washed out mines, towns that a railway or 400 series highway bypassed, or just plain forgotten.
The “Wabi-Sabi” is good for my lens and the serenity is good for my soul.

Love the photos! Am told the Wilno Tavern has great live music in the cold months.

One of my favourite posts so far. I also love old buildings, barns, abandoned cars and tools. Loved it! Thanks, Catherine
Say hello to Chantelle.
