The second leg of our Italian adventure was in Venice and Rome.

Venice, with its narrow canals and calles, is my favourite city. When you consider its history and architecture, it’s the most interesting and mysterious place I can think of; and this is what I try to show in my photographs. But I think I’ve captured this mysteriousness better is a previous post, click here if you’re interested in Mysterious Venice.

Rome was very, very busy. Thousands of post-pandemic tourists, both Italian and foreign, clogged the streets. Except for close to the train station, Venice didn’t seem so busy.

Our favourite moment in Rome was a visit to one of our favourite restaurants in the Trastevere neightbourhood… Alle Fratte di Trastevere ristorante. We’ve been there 3 times.
