Iceland is a very high-tech country, especially in computer software and geothermal power generation. But it seems to me that the biggest industry is tourist excursions. I thought it would be pretty quiet in mid-October, but there were hundreds of tourists getting onto excursion buses every morning, us included.

You may be wondering why the feature image at the top of the page is a horse. Well, there are many horses in Iceland, mostly used for pleasure riding, but I saw them on the menu. 🙁 There are also 1/2 million sheep running free-range (only 334,000 people on the island). The sheep are only brought in for the winter.

We went on excursions every day, including several waterfalls, a glacier, the lava tunnel, and the Secret Lagoon hot springs. The landscape in Iceland is beautiful and spectacular. Here are my favourites… enjoy.
